Veteran Ventures Capital Invests in Hybron Technologies

McLean, VA — April 2026 — Veteran Ventures Capital (VVC) is proud to announce its investment in Hybron Technologies, a next-generation defense manufacturing company revolutionizing composite materials for aerospace and defense applications.

About Hybron

Founded in 2022 by Brennan Lieu (CEO) and Aaron Guo (CTO), Hybron Technologies has developed proprietary hybrid chopped-fiber polymer technology that produces carbon fiber components at up to 100x the speed and a fraction of the cost of traditional methods — while achieving components up to 90% lighter than aerospace-grade metals.

The company's breakthrough manufacturing process has already produced the world's first composite compressor blades to operate at full power in a fighter jet engine, with additional products in advanced prototyping including composite 155mm artillery shell casings and turbine fan blades.

The Investment

Hybron closed an oversubscribed $25M Seed round led by Marque Ventures, with participation from Veteran Ventures Capital, Lockheed Martin Ventures, RTX Ventures, and other strategic investors. The funding will accelerate production scaling, expand the company's El Segundo manufacturing facility, and advance qualification programs with major defense primes.

Why VVC Invested

Hybron represents a compelling addition to VVC's Fund II portfolio:

  • Dual-Use Technology: Composite manufacturing serves both defense (artillery casings, engine components) and commercial aerospace markets
  • Domestic Supply Chain: Fully U.S.-based manufacturing addresses critical supply chain resilience requirements
  • Massive TAM: The advanced aerospace materials market is projected to reach $41.6B, growing at 8.4% CAGR
  • Strategic Validation: Investment from Lockheed Martin Ventures and RTX Ventures signals strong defense prime interest
  • Exceptional Founders: Lieu and Guo bring deep materials science expertise from Stanford and UC Berkeley, with prior experience at Boeing and Moog Aircraft

Strategic Fit

Hybron joins VVC's growing Advanced Materials vertical alongside Cambium Biomaterials, reinforcing VVC's thesis that veteran-aligned companies building critical manufacturing capabilities represent outsized investment opportunities in the current defense modernization cycle.

"Hybron's technology addresses one of the most fundamental challenges in defense manufacturing — producing high-performance composite components at scale and speed. Their team has achieved what many thought impossible, and we're excited to support their growth." — Veteran Ventures Capital
