Veteran Ventures Makes Strategic Investment in Hidden Level: The Future of Airspace Monitoring
Veteran Ventures Capital’s (“Veteran Ventures”) Veterans Fund I announced its investment in Syracuse-based Hidden Level, Inc (“Hidden Level”). Hidden Level, recently selected by the Department of Defense to receive $10 million in funding through the highly-selective and prestigious Accelerate the Procurement and Fielding of Innovative Technologies (APFIT) program and recognized as a finalist in the Public Safety category of this year’s XCELLENCE Awards presented by the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), developed a low-altitude Airspace Monitoring Service, using a local network of passive radio-frequency sensors installed on buildings, rooftops and cell towers, which detects the movement of unmanned aerial system (UAS), or drone, aircraft in the area. The service provides real-time, actionable data to customers at a fraction of the cost of industry competitors.
With the proliferation and sophistication of low-cost, small UAS systems, Homeland Security, U.S. forces and allies, and commercial entities require a means to safeguard their people and assets against these platforms. Hidden Level’s radio frequency sensing technology is providing critical multi-domain situation awareness and support to do exactly that.
